Sambar HTTP Server: configuration notes when using WebHub
General
We recommend the use of the Sambar HTTP server whenever you have trouble using the Microsoft HTTP server, which can be due to licensing restrictions or not having the install media handy!
Download from http://www.sambar.com/">www.sambar.com.
Steps
- Install Sambar, then install the WebHub Runtime System
- Edit WHNetworkInfo.xml and make an HTTP server entry for sambar using these settings:
- ID: sambar (by convention, this should be lowercase)
- Name starts with: SAMBAR (this must be uppercase to match the server name generated by Sambar)
- Send Http Version: true
- Send Http Colon: false
- Force Case: none
- Edit WHNetworkInfo.xml and make sure that there is a runner entry that points to the sambar http server.
- In Sambar's administrator interface, go into MAPPINGS and enter a document mapping of /scripts/ to point to the folder containing runisa.dll
- Using ISAPI Extension Associations, use [Configure] to map *.dll to the exact path and filename of your copy of runisa.dll
- Then test http://localhost/scripts/runisa.dll?version and http://localhost/scripts/runisa.dll?echo
- If you have trouble, restart everything (Sambar server, the hub, your app) and be sure to clear your browser's cache or use an http sniffer to avoid being fooled by cached data.
